Giving
Why do we Give in Church?
Giving our offerings and tithes is a demonstration of our faith in God, in His Word and His ability to preserve and protect our lives and futures. Even though we cannot see God with our physical eyes, we trust Him with our whole lives and when we give it is our connection to Him. Men must walk with God by faith; for it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6).
The Bible teaches us that all the great men of faith demonstrated their faith in God through their giving. Whether it was with their lives, money, possessions or even the dedication of their first born child, God respected their faith when demonstrated in their giving. God, who cannot and has never lied, let us understand that giving comes from the heart. He sees and knows what is in our heart when we give, showing us that it is a connection of our heart to Him...a faith connection.
(2 Corinthians 9:7 AMPC) Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].
